We take the protection of your personal data seriously. This privacy policy explains what data we process on immovest.cv, for what purposes, and what rights you have.

This policy is intended in particular for visitors from the European Union and the European Economic Area, where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies.

2. General information

Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person — for example name, email address or IP address.

We only process personal data where this is necessary to provide our website, respond to enquiries, or comply with legal obligations.

3. Visiting our website (server log files)

When you access our website, technically necessary data is automatically processed by our hosting provider. This may include:

  • IP address
  • date and time of access
  • page or file requested
  • browser type and version
  • operating system
  • referrer URL

Purpose: provision, stability and security of the website.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a secure and functional website).
Retention: usually a few days to a few weeks, depending on the hosting provider.

4. Cookies and consent management

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are strictly necessary; others — in particular embedded maps — are only set after you give consent.

We use Complianz to manage cookie consent. On your first visit you can choose which categories to allow. You can change your choice at any time via “Manage consent” in the cookie banner or footer.

Legal basis:

  • Strictly necessary cookies: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR
  • Optional cookies / embedded content with consent: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR

A separate cookie policy may be available via the cookie banner or the page provided by Complianz.

5. Contact and enquiry forms

If you contact us by email, phone, WhatsApp or via a contact or enquiry form on the website, we process the data you provide — for example:

  • name
  • email address
  • phone number
  • content of your message
  • details about a property or your request, where relevant

Purpose: handling and answering your enquiry, and where applicable arranging viewings or brokerage.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual steps) and/or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in communicating with prospective clients).
Retention: we keep enquiries only as long as needed for handling and follow-up, usually up to 24 months, unless a longer legal retention period applies.

Listing enquiry forms use WPForms. Data is sent to us and is not used for purposes other than those described in the form.

6. Google Maps

On some pages — especially property listings — you can open an interactive map via Google Maps. This connects to servers operated by Google Ireland Limited and/or Google LLC. Google may process personal data, in particular your IP address and device information.

The map is only loaded after you consent to the relevant cookie category. Without consent, no Google Maps content is embedded.

Provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland
More information: Google Privacy Policy
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent)

7. Links to WhatsApp, Facebook and other external services

Our website contains links to external services such as WhatsApp or Facebook. When you click such a link, you leave our website. The respective provider is responsible for data processing there.

Simply displaying a link on our website does not transfer data to those providers. Data processing only begins when you actively click the link.

8. No Google Analytics

We currently do not use Google Analytics or comparable web analytics tools that create visitor profiles across multiple sessions.

9. Disclosure of data

We only share your personal data with third parties if:

  • you have consented,
  • this is necessary to handle your enquiry or contract,
  • we are legally obliged to do so, or
  • technical service providers (e.g. hosting, email) act on our behalf as processors.

As our company is based in Cape Verde, data may be transferred to countries outside the EU/EEA. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards under Art. 44 et seq. GDPR, such as standard contractual clauses or your explicit consent.

10. Your rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • access (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • objection to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR)
  • withdrawal of consent (Art. 7(3) GDPR) — at any time, with effect for the future

To exercise your rights, email us at info@immovest.cv.

11. Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority if you believe that processing of your data infringes the GDPR.

For visitors in the EU, this is usually the authority in your country of residence. In Cape Verde, the competent authority is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados Pessoais (CNPD).

12. Changes to this privacy policy

We may update this privacy policy when our website, services or legal requirements change. The current version is always available on this page.
